Massage Specialists *Reduced Rates* | Not billable through extended health plans

Kootenay Integrated Health offers Non-Registered Massage with Carissa Wilson or Sue Monford. Non-Registered Massage is a great alternative for those who are out of insurance coverage and willing to pay out of pocket. Both Carissa and Sue are not billable to extended health insurance as they are not yet registered in the province of BC.

Exercise Physiology & Rehabilitation

George is a qualified exercise physiologist with expertise in the movement and rehabilitation of the human body. HIs work helps patients recover from injury and surgery as well as improve strength and performance. He also worked closely with physiotherapists, chiropractors and physicians to manage chronic health conditions and lead people on the path to better health.

Justin obtained a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Lethbridge, and shortly after, completed the 1100 hour massage program at Mount Royal University. After deciding to expand his education and focused more towards a holistic environment, Justin attended the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences (ACOS) in Nelson B.C. Upon graduation from ACOS Justin then completed the 4,125 hour Doctor of Chinese Medicine program.

Justin’s knowledge of the human body, nutrition, and alternative practices provides patients with exceptional therapy options for the maintenance of all variations of pain, sport related injuries, stress relief, sleep improvement and optimizing gut health.

Justin Kanigan is a local from the West Kootenay’s, growing up he spent most of his time playing hockey, and eventually reaching a semi pro-athlete status. Justin also spends his time fishing, golfing and building his practice while enjoying the abundance of outdoor activities the Kootenays have to offer.

Dr. Nick began his chiropractic career in his hometown of Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador but relocated to the West Kootenays 3-years ago after growing very fond of the region. Dr. Nick and his wife, a local to the Kootenays, met in Chiropractic College and thanks to her, he gets to explore the best parts of BC with their young daughter, Libby. Dr. Krysha is a local West Kootenay girl, having grown up in both Castlegar and Nelson, BC.  Dr. Krysha is a graduate of the Doctor of Chiropractic program from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Prior to the DC program she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Victoria. Dr. Krysha and her husband, Dr. Nick met in Chiropractic College and are now happy to be practicing together at Kootenay Integrated Health. Stu McDonald was born and raised in Nelson, BC. A calling for growth and education landed him in New Zealand where he finished at the top of his class in Physiotherapy. Stu worked primarily with the athletic population treating “weekend warriors” to professional athletes in Auckland. After the birth of their daughter, Stu and his wife Lisa moved back to the Kootenays.

Dene has been a Registered Psychologist for over 20 years and before that, he worked as a School Psychologist and Counsellor. Dene has worked in; mental health, addictions, rehabilitation, developmental disabilities, schools, family counselling and post-secondary education.

Dene was born and raised in Red Deer AB but for most of his life felt a calling from the mountains, rivers, and lakes of beautiful British Columbia. In 2019 he arrived in Castlegar at his BC destination of choice, ready to work and enjoy the splendor of the West Kootenays.

Alex is a Registered Massage Therapist Certified with the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia. He is a recent graduate of the new 3,000-hour massage therapy program at Kootenay Columbia College of Integrated Health Sciences in Nelson.

Treatments with Alex are based on his patient’s individual needs. As an RMT Alex integrates myofascial release, neuromuscular techniques, deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy. This approach allows Alex to work with each client to meet their specific wellness goals.

Taumi McCreight graduated from the 3000+ hour registered massage therapy program from the Kootenay Columbia College of Integrative Health Sciences in Nelson, BC.

Taumi has experience working with a variety of patients including acute and chronic pain patients, pre/post-natal women, high intensity athletes, and individuals with neurological, motor, and mental health disorders. She understands that massage therapy is an integral part of injury prevention, rehabilitation, and overall whole body health.

Through active listening skills, Taumi is able to work with patients to create an effective treatment tailored to their needs. Her therapeutic knowledge and compassionate approach helps create an individual and effective treatment.
